Kate has a B.A. in Art and specializes in both digital and traditional illustration. Her inspiration comes from many sources, ranging from the biological illustrations of Renaissance artist Albrecht Dürer to cartoonist Charles M. Shultz, creator of Peanuts. Along with drawing, she also has strong interest in art history, 2D design, and graphic design. Kate works on her own projects as well as takes commissions from the public. You can find custom illustrations, greeting cards, and other works for purchase through her Etsy shop, titled “KGT Creations.”

Kate is a portrait, editorial, and wedding photographer and has experience with both film and digital photography. With her love for Philadelphia and traditional black and white film processes, she enjoys city-scape photography and is inspired by photographers Ansel Adams and Berenice Abbott. Kate finds beauty and simplicity in using natural lighting and black and white imagery. She also has proficiency in video editing and processing. You can find her works featured in articles through companies such as Livestrong and eHow. Currently, Kate is taking commissions, sells prints on her Etsy page, and shares her love of the city through photographing for Philly Current Magazine.

Kate holds her M.Ed in Art Education. She works as an art instructor for an alternative, therapeutic school for grades 4-12 in the Philadelphia area. Passionate for helping at-risk populations, Kate follows the works of Dr. Bruce Perry (Child Trauma Academy), utilizes brain-based educational practices and teaches others on how to do the same. Outside of the classroom, Kate also has experience helping at-risk youth in Kensington, Philadelphia, one of the most dangerous drug distribution centers in the country. Having lived with loved ones who have experienced trauma and struggled with drug addiction, Kate hopes to inspire others by sharing her educational and life experiences and give them hope through teaching and art-making processes.
